Israel has delivered over 600 missile, bomb and artillery strikes on the Gaza Strip, while intercepting 197 rockets fired into Israel from Gaza, in the three days of its Cloud Pillar military operation.
This came in a statement Friday by the Israel Home Front Command Chief Major-General Eyal Eisenberg. He also urged the local military command officers and the local government agencies of southern Israel to brace themselves for the fact that the operation in the Gaza Strip may last for at least seven weeks.
According to earlier reports, Israel may boost the number of called-up reservists to 75,000, for the operation in Gaza. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation on Friday to reaffirm the need for urgent action to speedily end the violence in the Middle East and restore normalcy to the region.
