China May Join Russia in Anti-Terror Effort as Jakarta Tragedy Shocks World

On January 13, the Washington Times published an article written by Bill Gertz, a national security columnist for the Washington Times and senior editor at the Washington Free Beacon, saying China may join the war against the Islamic State...

China Is Facing Jihadism

Beijing has promised to act following decapitation of a Chinese national on ISIS controlled territory and the killing of three executives of a Chinese construction company in Mali, claimed by Al-Mourabitoun jihadist Al-Qaida related group. The news shocked Chinese citizens, who are regularly hit by Xinjiang Uyghur radicals who have fought a low-level bloody insurgency against Beijing's rule for years...

Syria Needs Comprehensive Approach

As dangerous as Western misinterpretation of its co-responsibility in perpetuating the current Syria crisis is its lack of understanding of the larger macro-region Syria role as a link between the Middle East and Southern Eurasia. Russian military operation in Syria might transform the much needed understanding of the macro-region...

Xinjiang in Focus of US Foreign Policy

The US intervention into Afghanistan has exacerbated the situation near the southern part of Russia. In case the US gets a foothold in the Xinjiang Uygur Region, the things will exponentially worsen, there are many Uyghurs living in Central Asia (250000 in Kazakhstan, 60000 in Kyrgyzstan, 50000 in Uzbekistan etc)... The US goes to any length to support the Uygur separatists abroad, for instance the World Uyghur Congress headed by Rabiya Kadir , one of the richest Chinese in the world...

Events in Xinjiang

As the session of the National People's Congress was being held in Beijing, conflicting reports were once again starting to come out of the Xinjiang-Uyghur Autonomous Region – a region situated in the northwest part of China which borders Central Asian post-Soviet republics and is populated, for the most part, by Muslims and members of other Turkic nations...

Russia, India and Pakistan-China Cooperation (I)

Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to visit Pakistan. Reportedly the event is to take place in September this year. «Lull» is a natural thing for summer time that gives an opportunity to reflect on the reasons defining Russia’s policy in the southern part of Central Eurasia... Formally the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has two major strategic allies – The China People’s Republic and the USA. But in light of the 2011 events the Pakistan’s ruling circles lost trust in the USA placing greater value on China that is routinely called an «all weather friend»...

US Targets Russia and China with North Korea Pretext

The North Korean state is routinely mocked in the West for engaging in hyperbole and bombast. Ironically, the Western reaction to its latest satellite launch is a carnival of knee-jerk hysteria and hyperbole. But all the bluster has conveniently given Washington an opportunity to proceed with its global missile shield plans. That is far more destabilizing to international security than any alleged North Korean violation...
