Implementation of EU-Ukraine Association Agreement (I)

The full implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, along with the opening of the Free Trade Area between the two parties on Jan. 1, 2016, was expected by Kiev to be an important historic milestone, upon which all of Ukraine’s problems would miraculously melt away. But what actually happened?..

Warsaw’s double-edged gamble on Ukrainian nationalists

Former Polish president Bronislaw Komorowski (he was officially replaced by Andrzej Duda on 6 August) has awarded members of the Union of Ukrainians in Poland (UUP), including its leader Piotr Tym, with the Knight’s Cross of Polonia Restituta and the Silver Cross of Merit. Komorowski did not fail to point out that those awarded had made a notable contribution to the development of Polish-Ukrainian relations. But what kind of contribution exactly?..

America’s longtime support for Ukrainian fascists

No sooner had U.S. and Soviet troops shook hands and embraced at Torgau on the River Elbe at the close of World War II in Germany, the forerunner of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), was already lining up the support of Ukrainian allies of Nazi Germany to target the Soviet government in Kiev. The details of the establishment by the OSS of an anti-Soviet infrastructure that included Ukrainian Insurgent Army (OUN) followers of Adolf Hitler ally Stepan Bandera are contained in a formerly «SECRET CONTROL» document from October 1946. The document was prepared by U.S. Army Intelligence (G2) on behalf of the OSS. The following year, the OSS officially was transformed into the CIA...

Will Poland Train OUN Militants?

The Poland's Defense Ministry says it plans to train about 60 Ukrainian army instructors this year, including NCOs of OUN battalion (OUN-the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists). The training sessions would take place in Poland in June, September and October. Several other NATO members are also joining the NATO program known as the Defense Education Enhancement Program - DEEP. Its aim is to bring Ukraine's forces up to the standards of the Western alliance. Tomasz Siemoniak, Polish Minister of National Defence, has already discussed the issue with General Mieczysław Gocuł, Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces. 10 Ukrainian servicemen are tocome on June 29, with 20 more to follow in September and 30 in October...

Canada’s Harper Government Provides Military Training to Neo-Nazi Ukraine National Guard

The Canadian media has highlighted Prime Minister Harper’s one on one meeting with Ukraine’s president Poroshenko in Kiev (June 5, 2015). The official story which has been fed to Canadians is that Ottawa is providing “non-lethal aid” as well support to the country’s civilian police force.

Wola Massacre and Polish Authorities: Another Case of Political Amnesia

Poland is suffering political amnesia. The condition gets acute any time one mentions the mass crimes committed against Polish nationals. There is a plethora of examples to prove the case. The Volyn massacre is the most illustrative one. Ukrainian nationalists brutally tortured and killed dozens of thousands of old men, women and children. For all that, the Polish government supports the successors of Stepan Bandera who have seized power in Ukraine...

Ukrainian Nationalism Threatens Poland

Vasyl Pavlyuk, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin, met the students of Maria Curie - Sklodowska Lublin University. Unexpectedly he was given a hard time. First, All-Polish Youth (Polish Młodzież Wszechpolska), a nationalistic Polish Youth Organization, held a conference near the University building. They said that meeting with Vasyl Pavlyuk was the same thing as meeting the supporters of Hitler, Himmler and other Nazi criminals. Then the protesters moved inside the University to see the Ukrainian Consulate General and raise the posters «Murderers! Shame! No Glory!»...

Poland: Presidential Election Goes to Second Round. Why Pawel Kukiz Angers Adam Michnik?

A second round of Polish presidential election is scheduled on May 24... One of the key stories from the first round vote was the success of Paweł Kukiz, 52, a former rock singer and political novice, who finished a surprising third with more than 20, 8%. Looks like his electorate will decide who wins the run-off election... Some things Pawel Kukiz says sound appealing to people. For instance, his opposition to «the plans to make Poland an exporter of cheap labor and the right place for giving a boost to agritourism». He calls himself an «anti-system candidate» ready to team up with anyone willing to «rip up the political system» that he calls a criminal one...

Ukraine Deceives Europe

...The new Ukrainian laws adopted by parliament in April, 2015 bring out a direct link between the ideology of the Hitler’s puppets in Ukraine and the views propagated by those who have recently seized power in Kiev to declare themselves the fighters against «Moscovite occupation». Today Ukraine is a failed state. The Kiev regime will continue to deceive Europe about the prospects for European integration as long as Europe wants to be deceived.

Canada Represents a Reservoir of Support for Ukrainian Neo-Nazis

...Canadian support for the most right-wing elements, including neo-Nazis, in Ukraine would never have been possible had it not been for the concrete support provided by the Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) and its Central Intelligence Agency masters since the Cold War era to neo-fascist organizations within the Ukrainian-Canadian diaspora community. It is a community that numbers 1.2 million and which has tremendous political clout in the Canadian Parliament and various provincial legislatures...

The Fantasy World of Central Bank Interest Rates Has Set the Stage for the Second Wave of the Global Financial Crisis

Starting from February, deposits made with the Bank of Japan began to accrue negative interest. The interest rate at the Central Bank of Japan now stands at minus 0.1%. This is no longer seen as shocking. The central banks in developed countries began backing into the negative zone for passive operations several years ago...
