Kerry’s Message to Somalia: Beef up Military

Secretary of State John Kerry came off, once again, sounding like «Johnny One Note» on the first-ever visit by an American Secretary of State to Somalia. In his short three hour meeting with Somali leaders, including Somalia’s ineffective and powerless president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Kerry was confined to a sandbag-fortified security bivouac at Mogadishu airport because the Somali government has no control over its own capital city...

Al Shabaab Benefited from Western Destruction of Libyan State

Al Shabaab, the Islamic terrorist group that has just laid siege to a Kenyan university, killing nearly 150 people, benefited from the 2011 Western aggression that backed al Qaeda and affiliated militias to destroy the state of Libya

«We’re all Kenyans»

The Nairobi operation wound up with rather unexpected results... According to the passports found, they crime perpetrators were the nationals of the United States, Great Britain and the Netherlands. It proves the fact that the criminal act was committed by an Al Qaeda affiliated international terrorist network. Its activities are coordinated and spread around the whole world; it would be erroneous to think that the terrorist acts in different countries (Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan and Kenya) were isolated cases... The intelligence data on the Al Qaeda’s strategic goals is not made public. The world is simply intimidated with a bogey that it just hates the human kind, so it kills people wherever it is possible. Willy-nilly one gets the impression that this kind of image is created for some purpose...

Africa: Terror Territory

Until the late 1990s, Africa was a terror-free zone. Terror raged in various places throughout the world, but the African continent was unfamiliar with this phenomenon. The situation changed in 1998 after large-scale simultaneous terrorist attacks in Kenya and Tanzania, when the U.S. embassies in both Nairobi and Dar es Salaam were attacked... Today Africa has become the main arena for international terrorism. Currently, dozens of large international terrorist organizations are active there... The beginning of 2013 was marked by an increase in the activity of terrorist groups in Africa. Recent weeks have brought news of more and more new terrorist attacks...

Hydropolitics Propel Balkanization

Wherever there are reports of melting glaciers and a future of diminished water resources, there is an increasing Balkanization of nation-states. Those who manipulate world events for maximum profit understand that it is much easier to control water resources if one is dealing with a multitude of warring and jealous mini-states than it is to deal with a regional power...

Gung-ho French in another fatal African attraction

With France’s ignominious track record for disastrous military adventures on the African continent – the 1956 Suez Crisis comes most to mind – one would think that the former colonial power would have learned some prudence by now... With hundreds more French troops on the way and French tanks arriving from neighbouring Cote D’Ivoire, President Francois Hollande is in danger of leading his country into a fatal no-man’s land...

About Somali pirates and not only about them

Marine transportation accounts for 90% of all international trade transportation in the world, so therefore piracy has become a threat to world trade. In the first 10 months of 2012, 291 attacks have been made on ships... Piracy off the coast of Somalia occurs for a range of reasons, but the resolution adopted by the UN Security Council is not eliminating any of them... As it turns out, even in the UN Security Council there are patrons of pirates: the representative of the Russian Federation, Vitaly Churkin, said bluntly that the proposal to impose sanctions on the pirate leaders «does not find support from some members of the Security Council»...

Western-Supported Secessionism is Hypocritical

The United States and its Western allies have championed the secession of certain aspirant nations whose independence is in the national and economic security interests of globalization... Similarly, the West... led the charge for South Sudan’s secession from Sudan. South Sudan is now a virtual colony of Western non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are financed by the George Soros/U.S. Agency for International Development nexus, which are representing the interests of Western oil companies eager to exploit the new nation’s vast petroleum reserves. The NATO/Gulf Cooperation Council alliance that intervened to overthrow Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi has permitted, without military intervention, the eastern region of Libya, Cyrenaica, declared the “Emirate of Barqa” by Salafist Wahhabi Muslims on the payroll of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, to declare its autonomy from the transitional government based in Tripoli... In Pakistan, the West has been covertly supporting Baluchi separatists who have carried out terrorist attacks on Iran...

Covering the Famine - of news

Between 5 July and 3 August, the BBC ran 30 stories on the famine in Somalia but without exception not a single story recounts the history of Somalia or the role of the West in creating the conditions that have led to the unfolding disaster... So, far from being a 'natural disaster' events in Somalia can be traced directly to Western intervention, an intervention carried out in at least one hundred indebted economies the world over in the name of 'structural adjustment'...

US Targets Russia and China with North Korea Pretext

The North Korean state is routinely mocked in the West for engaging in hyperbole and bombast. Ironically, the Western reaction to its latest satellite launch is a carnival of knee-jerk hysteria and hyperbole. But all the bluster has conveniently given Washington an opportunity to proceed with its global missile shield plans. That is far more destabilizing to international security than any alleged North Korean violation...
