Obama’s «Diplomacy» Masks His Bullying at Jamaica and Panama Summits

U.S. President Barack Obama had a number of awkward encounters with Latin American and Caribbean leaders at the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) summit in Jamaica and the Summit of the Americas in Panama. Present in Jamaica were leaders like Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit. Skerrit had denounced Obama’s policy of sanctions against Dominica’s ally Venezuela and Washington’s calling the government headed by President Nicolas Maduro a threat to U.S. national security. Obama and his advisers were awkwardly forced to «walk back» the national security threat charge against Venezuela during both summit venues...

The Great Nicaraguan Canal, or the Chinese puzzle for America

The idea of building an interoceanic canal through Nicaragua, similar to the Panama Canal but deeper and wider, has inspired the Nicaraguans for decades... In July 2012, the National Assembly of Nicaragua passed a law prepared by the government «On the legal status of the Great Interoceanic Canal and the creation of its management structure»... It has become known that the project’s investor is Empresa Desarrolladora de Grandes Infraestructuras S.A. (EDGISA). The Authority of the Great Interoceanic Canal and EDGISA have signed a contract with the Chinese company HK Nicaragua Canal Development Investment, which has been given the authority to develop the project... The operator company HKND Group Holdings Limited, which was registered on the Cayman Islands in November 2012, is managed by experienced Chinese businessman Wang Jing, who enjoys support at the highest state level...

The DEA as a coordinator of drug trafficking in Latin America

Inspector Franklin Brewster Chase, aged 39, the head of investigation of particularly important cases of drug trafficking in Panama, was poisoned on July 3, 2006. Brewster, like many other members of staff, kept food brought from home in the fridge, which stood in one of the staff rooms. After having lunch and drinking water from a plastic bottle, he fell ill, began to complain of shortness of breath, fever, dizziness, and nausea. Half an hour later, still conscious, he asked to be taken to the National Hospital. Two weeks later he died in excruciating pain. Panamanian investigators told the press that, in all probability, Brewster had been poisoned by organophosphate pesticides...

U.S. Is a Divisive and Coercive Influence in the Caribbean

The United States, rather than embrace its own Caribbean cultures in the Florida Keys and New Orleans and its surrounding bayou country, has adopted a policy of treating the Caribbean as a «soft underbelly» of the United States where the only things that matter are a constant military presence and an assurance that the nations of the region follow the United States foreign policy lines and maintain the financial status quo that permits wealthy American businessmen like Mitt Romney to hide their assets from the U.S. tax man...

Truth Is Washington’s Enemy

US Representative Ed Royce (R, CA) is busy at work destroying the possibility of truth being spoken in the US.  On April 15 at a hearing before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs of which Royce is chairman, Royce made use of two minor presstitutes to help him redefine all who take exception to Washington’s lies as  «threats» who belong to a deranged pro-Russian propaganda cult. Washington’s problem is that whereas Washington controls the print and TV media in the US and its vassal states in Europe, Canada, Australia, Ukraine, and Japan, Washington does not control Internet sites, such as this one...
