Germans and New Interpretation of Big Bang Theory

Calm and tranquility had reigned in Germany and the rest of Europe until recently. Peace had appeared to be part of everyday life there. Now the times are changing. European politicians used to talk about attractiveness of European values and success of unique process of European integration etc. with a sense of superiority. Now it looks like those days are gone...

Putin in Hungary: Western Anti-Russia Unity Shattered

President Putin arrived on a working visit to Hungary on February 17. The importance of this event goes beyond the limits of bilateral relations. It was an outstanding event... Victor Orban is really popular at home – the right partner to make deals with. He is a real, not a theatrical, nationalist and he understands that it is easy to sacrifice the interests of Hungary, a small country, to the interests of leading EU states or European bureaucracy... Victor Orban is a very pragmatic person and sound pragmatism is a good alternative to Europe’s role of vassal of the USA...

Hungary: Ukrainian Syndrome

A wave of street protests hit Hungary in 2015. Over 5 thousand people protested the policy of Prime Minister Victor Orban on January 2. The government has taken steps to strengthen ties with Russia recently... Gábor Vona, the leader of the Hungarian second largest political party Jobbik (the Movement for a Better Hungary)... believes that the situation in the country is extremely worrisome. Unstable Ukraine is a neighboring country. It complicates the things. Mr. Vona points out that the US special services clearly have a hand in organizing the recent street protests. Normally such activities are coordinated by the US embassy... Gábor Vona thinks that Washington will do its best to make Victor Orban change its course or topple him if the Prime Minister persists...

Viktor Orban Threatened by Maidan-Style Protest Movement

...The Hungarian prime minister’s independence, including with regard to Russia, has long irritated both Brussels and Washington. Viktor Orban’s statements regarding his intention of finding allies in Europe capable of opposing the introduction of new sanctions against Russia together have not gone unnoticed. Western capitals have been particularly outraged by the fact that on 4 November 2014, the Hungarian parliament passed a law allowing the construction of the South Stream pipeline to take place in Hungary, despite the position of the European Commission...

US Imposes Sanctions against Hungarian Citizens

...The US decision to impose sanctions against some Hungarian politicians, businessmen and tax officials has evoked a shock reaction in Budapest. Even the European Commission has not dared to do anything similar, no matter it has many times accused Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban of violating EU regulations and standards. No wonder! There is something important at stake – the fate of the most important endeavor ever undertaken since the Second World War. The goal is to use sanctions and other means of pressure to subjugate Russia and make it serve the vital interests of the West. Hungary has happened to be a «weak link» among the European Union’s ranks...

Hungary to Increase Russian Gas Supplies

Hungary has reached an agreement with Gasprom on increased gas supply to replenish the reserves of the country during the autumn-winter period, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said after the talks with Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller. The country’s gas storage facilities are currently 61% filled. Increasing Russian gas supplies is the only way to improve the situation. The decision should have been taken a long time ago. Some disagree. There are also those who express discontent with the Budapest’s decision to suspend reverse flow supplies to Ukraine...

The Anti-Brussels Front within the European Union

The mass celebration of Independence Day which took place last week in Hungary was for the first time in recent history accompanied by harsh slogans directed against the European Union and «foreign capital». Considering the popularity of the Hungarian government of Viktor Orban and the success of his economic policy, the conflict between Budapest and Brussels will not only continue to grow; it will draw other Central and Eastern European states into its orbit...

Discord Mounting in the European Union (I)

...Instead of overcoming the crisis together, Germany and other European Union member countries are exchanging more and more outrageous accusations. A schism in the ranks of the organization is deepening between the economic locomotive represented by Germany on the one hand and a number of countries in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe on the other. And the fact that many of these states have a bad «credit history» with Berlin could lead to new conflicts which threaten financial losses for all of Europe...

«Europe’s Hugo Chavez»

Hungarian premier Victor Orban clearly stands in the way of the plans of the global elite for Europe. Hungary’s new constitution which was passed in the spring of 2011 and entered into force on January 1, 2012 unequivocally placed emphasis on Christian legacy and nationhood and was immediately seen as a challenge by the forces of global governance. It happens to be the first constitution in Europe reflecting a radical departure from multiculturalism and the present-day brand of tolerance, which in practice translate into the erosion of national identity and infinite acceptance of moral deviance...

Hungary under Fire from the Financial International

Whenever and wherever a European nation reverts to its legacy, history, culture, and traditions, it immediately finds itself being tamed by alien “democratic” forces which trim national aspirations across the world to make peoples conform to the preferences of the global financial sector. The developments around Hungary at the start of 2012 provided a vivid example of the paradigm...

Russia, Austria to Expand Gas Cooperation

Despite the European Commission’s stern warnings, Russia’s share of European energy market will grow in the coming years. According to Bloomberg’s experts, gas exports to Turkey and the EU have reached 162.6 billion cubic meters (5.7 trillion cubic feet) this year, up from about 159 billion in 2015 and 161.5 billion (then record high) in 2013...
