Made in Saudi Arabia: Salafist Radicalism in Africa

Hardline Islamist radicalism, nurtured by Saudi Arabia’s vast oil wealth, is spreading through Africa at a rapid pace. Radical Salafist and Wahhabist groups with names like Boko Haram, Seleka, and Uamsho, unheard of a decade ago, are massacring Christians during church assemblies, razing Christian villages, and assassinating moderate Islamic clerics. Of course, this Saudi-made mayhem is a godsend for the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), which can point to the spread of «Al Qaeda»-linked terrorism to Africa as a reason to increase America’s military presence on the continent and add armed muscle behind Uncle Sam’s quest for Africa’s oil, natural gas, and mineral resources...

The International Justice System and the Hunt for Africans

The summer of 2013 was a hot one for Nigeria, and not just in terms of the weather. On the one hand, the country's populace and government have been subjected to new and increasingly violent attacks from terrorist groups, first and foremost from Boko Haram. On the other hand, Nigeria is experiencing massive pressure from the International Criminal Court, international human rights organizations and the local fifth column. This synchronized attack comes amid the destabilization of a number of neighboring countries...

Africa: Terror Territory

Until the late 1990s, Africa was a terror-free zone. Terror raged in various places throughout the world, but the African continent was unfamiliar with this phenomenon. The situation changed in 1998 after large-scale simultaneous terrorist attacks in Kenya and Tanzania, when the U.S. embassies in both Nairobi and Dar es Salaam were attacked... Today Africa has become the main arena for international terrorism. Currently, dozens of large international terrorist organizations are active there... The beginning of 2013 was marked by an increase in the activity of terrorist groups in Africa. Recent weeks have brought news of more and more new terrorist attacks...

Mali as Part of “Global Elite” Games

How could the Mali situation be assessed in the global context?  One or another solution of the “problem of Mali” defines the stability in the whole Africa. The Tuaregs reside in Algiers, Mauritania, Libya, Burkina-Faso and other adjacent countries. An ECOWAS intervention in Mali may not only cause the process of the Tuareg national unification, it may spark rebellion of “native” Tuaregs in the countries contributing troops for the operation (first of all Niger). It means a rescue operation in Mali may generate explosions in a number of African states at once!..The goal of terror organizations operating in the northern Mali is creation of command and coordinating structures for the terrorist network  activities encompassing the whole Africa.

Liberian President Charles Taylor’s Conviction: Holiday Sacrifice

On April 26 the Special Court for Sierra Leone found former President of Liberia Charles Taylor guilty of international war crimes committed on the territory of a neighboring state – Sierra Leone during the civil war of 1991-1997. He was the first former head of state to be convicted by an international court since the Nuremberg... The Taylor’s process has proved the Sierra Leone civil war was not an internal affair of the country. And Liberia was not the only state to be involved. It became known during trial deliberations that the USA and Nigeria (Olusegun Obasanjo) jointly conducted an operation to remove Taylor from political scene. He was promised asylum and immunity from prosecution in case he voluntarily resigned. He was arrested afterwards...

Africa on the Brink of New Shocks

The state powers of North Africa and the Middle East overtly routed, the process of destabilization in Nigeria and some other Africa South of Sahara countries moved a little away from the radar screen. But the recent events taking place in the most populated country of Africa make themselves be viewed against the backdrop of the «Arab spring», or «Arab leprosy» to be more precise... Today Nigeria has entered the period of abruptly intensified efforts of outside forces to turn the country’s internal contradictions to their own advantage. The same thing threatens other countries, first of all Algiers, Niger and Mali...

Zionists and Anti-Semites in Ukraine: A Strange Union

It is surprising how the national socialist Banderovite ideology which has prevailed in Kiev, filled as it is with anti-Semitism, has enabled the complete triumph of the most odious of figures from the point of view of this ideology, the oligarchs, and activists of the world Jewish movement like Igor Kolomoisky, at that. This is a striking example of how seemingly mutually exclusive political forces can form unprincipled and unnatural unions for the sake of achieving short-term goals without thinking about the far-reaching consequences... The ultranationalist slogan «Bandera will come and put things in order!» today sounds like «Kolomoisky will come and put things in order!»..
