Ahmadinejad: Is All Quiet in Baghdad?

The strategic partnership which arose between Baghdad and Tehran in 2008 was Ahmadinejad's accomplishment... By this summer a situation had formed where the interests of the anti-Syrian and anti-Iranian coalitions... Neither the removal of the current government nor the division of Iraq could please Tehran; either of these cases would be a strategic defeat, and the outcome of the Syrian conflict would once again be hanging by a thread... Ahmadinejad's visit to Baghdad two weeks before the end of his presidential term is a sign of the Iranian leadership's serious concern about the situation which has arisen literally over the past few months.

The War Clouds Form over Iran

Israel’s all-powerful lobby in Washington, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), an organization composed of Israeli collaborators, infiltrators, and outright traitors to the United States, is steamrolling through the House of Representatives H.R. 1905, which would prohibit the President of the United States, the Secretary of State, members of the U.S. Foreign Service, or any special envoy from engaging in any sort of diplomatic contact, official or unofficial, with any member or agent of the government of Iran... Israel’s strategy is to make certain that its plans to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities and, perhaps other targets, meet no opposition from diplomatic circles in the United States...

Russia-Egypt Arms Deal: Major Breakthrough as US Middle East Policy Faces Another Set Back

Russian President Vladimir Putin met Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, Russia, on August 12, 2014. It was his first official visit to the Russian Federation as President. And Vladimir Putin was the first leader to invite him for a visit outside the Arab world since his swearing-in as head of state. The agenda included introduction to a selection of Russian military hardware for sale. On September 17 it was reported that Russia and Egypt have reached a preliminary deal for Cairo to buy arms worth $3.5 billion from Moscow. Egypt and Russia have a history of being strategic allies. The emerging relationship reminds of the era of President Gamal Abdel Nasser, the great Egyptian leader. The deal concluded between Russia and Egypt on September 17 portends a gradual reduction in Washington's ability to control the quality and quantity of weapons that Cairo receives and to maintain Israel's qualitative military edge in the region.
