Events in Hong Kong and US Fight for Dollar

An attempt to launch a classic «orange coup» in Hong Kong  has become unexpected for many. Washington is simultaneously involved in the war in Ukraine, «sanctions» stand-off with Moscow and combat actions against the Islamic State. Looks like the time is wrong for exacerbating tensions with China. But that’s what the United States did... Washington is not hiding its intent to undermine the stability in China. Like if repeating the very same stuff he said about Ukraine, John Kerry called on Beijing to display restraint towards the protesters and let them peacefully express their opinion. Once again blocking administrative buildings is called peaceful actions while the activities of the government aimed at establishing law and order are called violence...

Hong Kong: Fathers and Children

The Hong Kong (Xiānggǎng) unrest spilled over to the central streets of the city on September 28-29 to immediately hit Western media radar screen. The movement was dubbed «the umbrella revolution» in turgid political style... The painted image of fighters for democracy against the totalitarian regime in Beijing (the event was compared to the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989) stood out for theatrical effectiveness... Beijing made it clear it won’t stand for interference into its internal affairs, including the support for anti-nationalist sentiments and organizers of protests. In the period of late September – early October Hong Kong became a testing ground for committing the nefarious deed of mixing notions: pro-American is painted as democratic while whatever is democratic is painted as anti-Chinese.

It’s Up to Germans to Decide if They Need War in Europe

The geopolitical project of creating independent Ukraine in order to destroy the Russian statehood was not a brainchild of US strategists. The idea belonged to German ideologists. No need to fall prey to illusions, it should be understood that the people who take foreign policy decisions in Berlin today are hardly ready for a compromise with Russia on Ukraine... Czar Alexander III probably had a reason to turn to the wall the picture of German Emperor, who was his uncle, while calling Iron Chancellor Otto von Bismarck «ober-swine». No matter that, the great German politician cared about the fate of his people. That’s what a wise foreign policy is about. Germans themselves should decide if they want a war in Europe. They should think about it and not forget that the United States pursues its own goals...
