Latin America and the U.S.: The Apotheosis of Distrust

The year 2013 was shockingly damaging to relations between the U.S. and the countries of Latin America. Edward Snowden's revelations showed that in the Western Hemisphere, Washington is trying to play only by the rules it itself has written. Using such spying programs as Prism, Boundless Informant and others, U.S. intelligence was collecting strategically useful information throughout the South American continent and using it to ensure the effectiveness of its policy in the region...

The South American Defence Council and the Subversive Activities of the Pentagon

...Evidence exists that there are atomic warheads at the British military base on the Falkland Islands and the means to deliver them. So with the full knowledge of the Pentagon, the conditions of the Treaty of Tlatelolco on the creation of a nuclear-free zone in Latin America and the Caribbean are being ignored... This aspect of the issue had always worried Brazil, since 90 percent of their trade was carried out across the Atlantic. The situation is now even more complicated due to the discovery of rich oil and gas reserves in the territorial waters of Brazil and Venezuela, and US oil companies want to be involved in their development on a priority basis... According to experts, a complex scenario by the Pentagon to provoke a war between Columbia and Venezuela is ready and just waiting for its time to come... But will the Obama administration really embark upon the large-scale destabilisation of South America?

Colombia: A Stepping Stone for U.S. Operations against Venezuela

The arrests of Colombian paramilitares on the territory of Venezuela are not seen as anything sensational. There are more and more cases like that. And nobody asks why the fighters are methodically infiltrating the country, cleverly disguised as seasonal workers or tourists. They are being used by the enemies of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela as part of a wide-reaching conspiracy, coordinated by U.S. and NATO intelligence agencies, to overthrow the lawfully elected authorities...

Global Drug Mafia and the Banks. An Introduction to the Subject

The truth to be kept in mind is that as of today the merger between the financial sector grands and the drug mafia in its classic forms – the cartels and syndicates - is an accomplished fact. No border exists any longer between global-scale banks and drug cartels and, consequently, between laundered and legally clean money – a lot of the funds believed to belong to the latter category actually fall within the former. The present alliance between banks and drug cartels is best described as the drug-banking mafia or the drug-banking business...The socioeconomic model currently materializing in the majority of the world's countries can be interpreted as a hitherto unstudied brand of capitalism, namely, the drug-banking capitalism...

Truce Talks and US Destabilization Attempts in Columbia

Though the raids launched by the Columbian special forces and directed by advisers from the CIA and the Pentagon indeed culminated in the killings of several guerrilla leaders, claims that the strikes left the FARC - Columbia's Revolutionary Armed Forces - demoralized appear to be a gross overstatement... Regardless of multiple tragic experiences, the FARC agreed to a new round of negotiations... The Columbian president explained in an address to the nation that he chose to re-energize the negotiations since now is one of those moments in history when a country leader must take risks to reach out for new solutions to the nation's old problems... How likely is it that the US will tolerate the unfolding peace process? For the Empire, reconciliation in Columbia would come as a strategic defeat...

Pentagon's Subversive Geostrategic Activity in Latin America

The U.S. is strengthening its network of military bases in Asia Pacific in anticipation of China's making deeper inroads into the region... Chavez bluntly said that the UNASUR jump to unity over the common defensive doctrine was inspired by the Libyan and other dramas provoked by U.S. interventions. Indeed, there are absolutely no reasons to believe that the Libyan scenario will not some day materialize in Latin America.

US Defensive at the Americas Summit

At the insistence of the US and Canadian delegations, the plenary sessions of the sixth Summit of the Americas were insulated from the media, causing the evidently shocked journalists who flocked to Cartagena, Colombia, to sarcastically describe the forum as «secret»... The Columbian police and security service must have felt annoyed by the pushiness of their US colleagues and, as it appeared, did not refrain from paying in kind...

Colombian guerrillas: capitulation or further fighting?

Reprisal against any leftist groups, including guerrillas, has never stopped in Colombia... The current number of FARC and ELN rebels in Colombia stands at about 11,000. Among its major principles the group names the realization of a socialist society, fighting oligarchy and forcing US military bases out of the country...

On Empire’s “sons of a bitch” and their fate

Franklin Delano Roosevelt once said either about the Nicaraguan dictator Somoza (Senior), or about the Dominican tyrant Trujillo: “He may be a son of a bitch, but he's our son of a bitch”. It has become a usual strategy for the US to place a stake on this category of associates in international affairs...

Kiev Regime Leaders to Face Hague Tribunal

Kiev has unleashed a war against its own people... The regime, that grabbed power in the heat of coup to quell the people’s aspirations for self-determination, is doomed to collapse. Those who are responsible for dozens of people killed on Maidan by snipers, as well as for killing the Donetsk fisherman and unleashing punitive actions against peaceful civilians, will have to face responsibility. The precedent to remember is the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia (ICTY). Having unleashed a war against its people, the Kiev regime has stepped on the way to finally face the International Criminal Tribunal for former Ukraine...
