Who Benefits from Terror Plague? The Answer is Blowing in the Wind

Terrorism came into being as soon as humanity appeared, but the US special services turned it into a threat of global scale. The end of the 1970s can be considered as the starting point. Back then the Central Intelligence Agency launched a training program for  «Islamic brigades» to entangle the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic into the war in Afghanistan... The war on terror declared by the United States on September 11 only made international terrorist groups stronger and even made them come to power in some countries. Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria became victims of US anti-terror fight... Today Al-Nusra Front, an Al Qaeda affiliated armed group, formally listed as a terrorist organization by US State Department, is a United States leading partner in Syria. No surprise the White House policy evoked protest among US military making Congress bombarded with e-mail protests «Obama, I will not deploy to fight for your al-Qaida rebels in Syria»...

Obama Fights Terror: Results and Lessons Before Second Term

Now, when President Obama is re-elected for the second term, the time is propitious to review the concrete results of war waged by US and coalition forces against world-wide terror... The current developments strengthen the position of radical Islamists in the Middle East. The unsettled Arab-Israeli conflict and US actions in Afghanistan and elsewhere promote the growth of anti-American feelings... The question is how many more tragedies and human suffering is required for the United Sates ruling elite to understand its terror fighting policies are flawed? Will newly elected President Obama draw lessons and try to rectify the situation?

Washington’s Banking Sanctions – Formal and Informal

...Since 1 April 2009, American financial regulators have fined European banks 32 times totalling nearly $25 billion... On 30 June 2014, the French bank BNP Paribas, which ranks fourth in the world in terms of assets and second in France, agreed to pay US authorities a record $9-billion fine. The bank’s management is charged with helping its Sudanese, Iranian and Cuban clients carry out dollar transactions banned by the US sanctions regime. In the coming months, giants of European banking like the German Kommerzbank and Deutsche Bank, French Credit Agricole and Societe Generale, and Italian Unicredit, among others, could also be subject to penalties...
