Obama and Osama

Since Osama bin Laden’s death 2 May 2011, the official account of the Navy Seals’ raid has been challenged, most recently and cogently by journalist Seymour Hersh, alleging that “Washington’s official account of the hunt for Bin Laden and the raid that led to his death was a lie.” In fact, there have been more “conspiracy-factual theories” about this event than there are on Illuminati. Was OBL there? Was he even alive then? Is he still?

Washington Protects Its Lies with More Lies

...Other than 9/11 itself, never has such a major event as bin Laden’s killing had such an enormous number of contradictory official and quasi-official explanations, unanswered questions and evasions. And the vast number of evasions and contradictions arouse no interest from the Western media or from the somnolent and insouciant American public...

The Bin Laden Murder Mystery

Seymour Hersh, a great journalist with superb sources and the courage to challenge conventional wisdom, has presented a counter-narrative of the 2011 raid that killed Osama bin Laden, but Hersh’s story – compelling in many respects, even to the New York Times – has some elements that stretch credulity, says John Gardner.

Who Benefits from Terror Plague? The Answer is Blowing in the Wind

Terrorism came into being as soon as humanity appeared, but the US special services turned it into a threat of global scale. The end of the 1970s can be considered as the starting point. Back then the Central Intelligence Agency launched a training program for  «Islamic brigades» to entangle the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic into the war in Afghanistan... The war on terror declared by the United States on September 11 only made international terrorist groups stronger and even made them come to power in some countries. Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria became victims of US anti-terror fight... Today Al-Nusra Front, an Al Qaeda affiliated armed group, formally listed as a terrorist organization by US State Department, is a United States leading partner in Syria. No surprise the White House policy evoked protest among US military making Congress bombarded with e-mail protests «Obama, I will not deploy to fight for your al-Qaida rebels in Syria»...

Obama Fights Terror: Results and Lessons Before Second Term

Now, when President Obama is re-elected for the second term, the time is propitious to review the concrete results of war waged by US and coalition forces against world-wide terror... The current developments strengthen the position of radical Islamists in the Middle East. The unsettled Arab-Israeli conflict and US actions in Afghanistan and elsewhere promote the growth of anti-American feelings... The question is how many more tragedies and human suffering is required for the United Sates ruling elite to understand its terror fighting policies are flawed? Will newly elected President Obama draw lessons and try to rectify the situation?

Russia’s Statements on Boosting Strategic Forces Potential: Reason for Concern or Pretext to Escalate Tension

The issue gets hot, ballyhoo is raised, warnings are made and tensions are high. Is there a reason for real concern or it’s all just much ado about nothing? Russia's military this year alone will receive over 40 new intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of penetrating any missile defenses, President Vladimir Putin said on June 16. He made the statement at the opening of the opening of the Army-2015 international military show in Kubinka, outside Moscow. «We will be forced to aim our armed forces ... at those territories from where the threat comes», Putin said...
