Who Cares What Kind of People They Are – Just Let Them Be Anti-Russian

The military issues prevailed defining the agenda of President Barack Obama’s European tour. The itinerary  included Poland, Belgium and France. He promised to increase the US presence in Central and Eastern Europe and called upon the allies to increase military spending to “deter Russia”. Benjamin Rhodes, the current 36 year old deputy national security adviser for strategic communication for Barack Obama, is known to exert great influence on the President. According to him, this kind of approach meets the policy of strengthening Transatlantic links...

The Resurgence of European Separatism

A 1.5-million-person demonstration in Barcelona in support of Catalonian independence and the fact that the Catalonian parliament is controlled by two separatist parties are the most noticeable signs of the new blossoming of separatism in Europe. Earlier, in October 2012, British Prime Minister Cameron and First Minister of Scotland Salmond signed an agreement on the holding of a referendum in 2014 on the independence of this part of the United Kingdom. At the same time, the Flemish separatists from the New Flemish Alliance won the local elections in Belgium. Nationalists have also come to power in the Basque Country in Spain. The examples cited are only the tip of the enormous separatist iceberg of Europe...

Flanders Unimpressed by Nobel Committee's Logic

The recent landslide win scored by the New Flemish Alliance (NVA) in Belgium's municipal elections must have had a sobbering effect on those who celebrated the awarding of the Nobel Prize for Peace to the EU. On October 14, the nationalist NVA bagged over 30% of the vote and its leader Bart De Wever moved into the spotlight as the new mayor of Antwerp...

Hissen Habre Trial: “Extradite or Prosecute”

On July 20 the UN International Court of Justice ruled on the case of former President of the Republic of Chad  Hissen Habre, who is in exile in Senegal. According to the ruling this country must either extradite him to Belgium or begin trial proceedings immediately... Africa is refused the right to consider its cases independently...Finally, the so called “universal jurisdiction” is given green light. The July 20 precedent lays down a foundation for “punishment” of one state by any other even if the last one has no relation to the case.

Looking Who Is Talking! MH17 and the US Role in Downing Passenger Airplanes

Approximately four months after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370) disappeared in March 2014, while en route from the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur to the Chinese capital of Beijing, another incident took place with a Malaysian passenger plane. This time Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17), en route from the Dutch capital of Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down on July 17, 2014 over the contested airspace of the breakaway Donetsk People’s Republic. The incident took place over Torez near the Russian-Ukrainian border while the authorities in Kiev were busy militarily assaulting the separatist armed forces of Novorossiya, that is the soldiers of the breakaway Donetsk People’s Republic and Donetsk’s sister-breakaway republic in East Ukraine, the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic...
