Longtime British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) star Jimmy Savile, who died last year, is now at the center of a major investigation of a pedophile ring that extended its tentacles into BBC celebrity and management ranks and even Buckingham Palace and Number 10 Downing Street, the residence of the Prime Minister. An official British police investigation of Savile and his child abusing comrades, titled Operation Yewtree, has identified as many as 300 child victim of the late television celebrity and former pop star Garry Glitter, also known as Paul Gadd and jailed in Vietnam in 2006 on pedophile charges, has been arrested by British police as part of their investigation of Savile and the BBC. Savile and Glitter appeared together on Savile’s television shows.
In 1990, Savile received an Order of the British Empire (OBE) knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II, even though there had been previous rumors that Savile misused his position as host of two popular BBC programs, «Top of the Pops» and «Jim’ll Fix it», to sexually molest underage teens. Savile’s charity work on behalf of orphans and mentally-disturbed teens blossomed into a close relationship with Prince Charles, himself no stranger to sexual scandal. The same year Savile received his British royal knighthood, he received a papal knighthood, the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great, from Pope John Paul II. Buckingham Palace and the Vatican have been under pressure to strip Savile posthumously of his honors, however, both institutions have refused because they maintain the knighthood honors expired upon Savile’s death.
The reactions of Buckingham Palace and St. Peter’s Basilica are not surprising when pedophilia is viewed as a crime that has long enjoyed the protection of royal houses and the Roman Catholic Church. In fact, the global pedophile conspiracy has not only entangled the British royal family and Vatican but also the Boy Scouts, college sports – as witnessed with the Pennsylvania State University football scandal that saw assistant coach Jerry Sandusky only prosecuted and convicted after years of seven Pennsylvania governors ignore Sandusky’s crimes. In 1977, Sandusky founded his troubled youth charity, The Second Mile Foundation, which received praise from high political levels, including President George H. W. Bush and failed 2012 Republican presidential candidate former Senator Rick Sabtorum. Like Savile’s charity work at children’s hospitals, psychiatric hospitals like Broadmoor southwest of London, and orphanages, Sandusky preyed on the youth in whose care he was entrusted.
Sandusky molested male teens in training facility showers at Penn State while Savile is accused of sexually assaulting spinal injury patients in their beds and even the corpses of deceased youngsters in hospital morgues.
Penn State football, like Savile’s BBC persona as a supporter of charity, was sacrosanct in the eyes of political leaders. Early rumors that both were molesting youth were ignored. Worse, in Sandusky’s case, there were no orders from over a half dozen Pennsylvania governors – Milton Shapp, Richard Thornburg, Robert Casey, Sr., Tom Ridge, Tom Schweiker, Ed Rendell, and Tom Corbett -- about Sandusky’s early involvement with a larger pedophile ring that extended into Harrisburg, the state capital, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia.
Thornburg later became the Attorney General of the United States and Ridge became the Secretary of Homeland Security. Thornburg was Attorney General during a major underage sex scandal involving underage congressional pages that rocked the Reagan and George H W Bush administrations. Washington newspaper headlines about underage congressional pages and «call boys» taking midnight tours of the White House ran for weeks. Under Ridge’s first watch over the department, Homeland Security enabled a number of pedophiles to be hired as senior and mid-level officials and Transportation Security Administration airport screeners.
Last December, the BBC program Newsnight was to air a documentary on Savile’s pedophile past but the show was cancelled at the last minute. The BBC’s director general at the time was Mark Thompson who is slated to become the chief executive officer of the New York Times Company. Thompson has denied he knew anything about the decision to spike the program but Margaret Sullivan, the New York Times’s ombudsman, said the Times should «not pull its punches» like the BBC has done in covering the Savile scandal and wrote that Thompson was bringing «unwanted baggage» to the New York paper of record. New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger, Jr. said he is satisfied that Thompson adequately explained his role in the BBC’s killing of the Savile story.
However, it is also known that Savile had a close relationship with a former British Prime Minster and there have been insinuations that the individual in question, Edward Heath, participated in pedophile activities with Savile and even rigged Her Majesty’s Customs to import illegal child pornography into Britain.
In 2010, an investigation code named Operation Flicker» discovered that child pornography was found on and even purchased using computers at the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA), National Reconnaissance Office, and the Security and Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). In 2005, Operation Ore in the United Kingdom received from the FBI a list of 7200 suspected child pornography downloading customers in the UK. There were immediate reports that the evidence was tainted. As is the case with many pedophile scandals, the onus switched from the accused to the accusers. This ploy by global pedophiles is usually successful since the accusers soon come under immense pressure and are ostracized by the authorities.
The Vatican’s decision not to formally rescind Savile’s papal knighthood further clouds the Roman Catholic Church stance on pedophilia among its senior leadership. Last year, the Vatican recalled its papal nuncio in Ireland after the Irish government accused the Vatican of instructing Irish bishops to cover up pedophile actions by Catholic priests in Ireland. After years of denials, the Boy Scouts of America was ordered by a court to disclose files on pedophile Boy Scout leaders and incidents spanning 1965 to 1985. Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and the Mormon Church of which he is an official have remained silent on the Boy Scouts pedophile activities while hyping the institution as representing good American «family values.»
For years, the Dalai Lama, cherished by the so-called progressive community as a human rights icon, has refused to crack down on age-old pedophile practices among Tibetan Buddhist monks. Belgian and French investigators have linked Belgian King Albert II and senior Belgian government officials to the long cover-up of the Marc Dutroux pedophile case involving sadism and child murders.
Those who maintain that global pedophiles are not engaged in a huge conspiracy involving the upper echelons of the ruling elite are enabling the continuation of this scourge. In fact, journalists who have condemned their colleagues for delving into such a «taboo» subject may be involved in pedophilia themselves. There are accounts of foreign correspondents for ABC News, Newsweek, UPI, and publications affiliated with Central Intelligence Agency propaganda activities being involved in the use of child prostitutes to entrap various officials, especially in the pederast haven of Southeast Asia, in addition to partaking in pedophile activities themselves.
The Savile and Sandusky cases are merely the tip of a very large iceberg.
