The international terrorist group Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for a spate of terrorist attacks in Iraq yesterday. The terrorists have posted statements to that end on Islamist Internet sites. A car bomb went off outside a checkpoint in the al-Karada residential area in Baghdad on Thursday. The blast was followed by four other acts of terror in other parts of the Iraqi capital. The attacks are believed to have been aimed against police. Terrorists also mounted attacks in the Diyalah and Salah-ad-Din Provinces. A total of more than 50 people fell victim to Thursday’s terrorist attacks.
