Syria agreed to stop attacks on protesters under an Arab League initiative that seeks to end months of unrest, Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jasim Al Thani told reporters yesterday in Cairo.
The Syrian government has agreed “to end all violence from any sources to protect Syrian citizens,” to release detainees held during the unrest and to clear cities and neighborhoods of “all military displays,” he said after an Arab League meeting.
