Panetta and Afghanistan

The Afghans have something to hate for those who intruded into their country and have been occupying it for the second dozen of years. The videos of US Marines urinating on a dead Afghan, mockery of Koran by a US pastor, Koran’s burning by US soldiers, regular night raids and living quarters searching, GIs shooting point blank at unarmed people, including children - all of it has led to external manifestation of strong hatred between the population and the occupants that dooms the West’s adventure in Afghanistan to miserable failure...

A Transit Point for Cargo or Drugs?

There are things that are indisputable. For instance, the existence of the most influential drug-trafficking networks in the USA that supply the world’s biggest (56%) army of addicts consuming about 86% of the world drug production. It’s a real big business... Afghanistan produced heroin’s share is fast growing bringing the highest profit... The biggest in the world heroin syndicate has been established in Afghanistan encompassing influential sectors of local and occupational powers. The country has been transformed into a drugs producing workshop. All air and ground routes out of it are illegal trafficking channels...

Two Worlds, Two Truths

After the old bipolar world was destroyed and the balance of power between the USSR and the USA no more served as a foundation, the West was quick enough to say goodbye to the spirit of equality in interstate relations and embarked on the way of establishing unilateral global dominance. In his article Russia and the Changing World Vladimir Putin clearly showed it is not the trend in international politics that Russia is going to support...

«Kill Every Russian and Every Chinese in Syria...»

...What is the likely result of encouraging Syrian rebels to target Russians and Chinese in terrorist strikes? In a quest for global publicity, sooner or later, the new terrorists will be indiscriminately hunting US and British citizens along with Russians. As in the case of Afghanistan, the West's own policies will boomerang, and then the US may see some sort of September 12 as a replay of September 11.

Churchill’s Shadow in UN

In his time then Prime Minister of Great Britain Winston Churchill proved the fact that a gap between a public politician and a public call girl could be narrowed to minimum... The spiritual successors of Churchill appear to never leave the Western political kitchen. Their motto is – play a dirty trick and do it as elegantly as you can. That’s what brings indefatigable UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon into the focus of international observers attention more and more often. Just recently speaking at the final 2011 results wrap up press conference he surprised the audience with his eloquence praising those who bombed Libya... Now Ban Ki-moon turned to Syria...

What a Weak Creature a Human Being Is, or Ban Ki-Moon’s 2011 Year End Press Conference

There are regular cases of unchained fantasy flights among high positioned personalities of world politics. It may make you stunned and wonder at first glance. Then it becomes clear it not just visions of a troubled mind but rather well prepared speeches serving the interests of certain political elements... Now we have a medical case of a high standing official’s fantasy flights. This time it’s UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who steps into focus...

«Shoot First, Ask Questions Later»

The news of a plea deal for US Marine squad leader Frank Wuterich charged in connection with the killing of 24 Iraqi civilians in 2005 neither caused a sensation nor even grabbed the headlines for a considerable period of time in the US media and the Internet. Initially, Wuterich faced three months of confinement... In stark contrast, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, for example, was locked up behind bars for 21 months in 2007 for arranging deadly dog fights at his house in South Virgina, but obviously the US justice finds it appropriate to value the lives of America's dogs above those of Iraqi civilians...

A Christmas Gift to the World from the US and Israel

On November 10, Daily Mail wrote with a reference to the British intelligence: «Israel will launch military action to prevent Iran developing a nuclear weapon as soon as Christmas… Sources say the understanding at the top of the British Government is that Israel will attempt to strike against the nuclear sites ‘sooner rather than later’ – with logistical support from the U.S.»…

What will decide the fate of Syria?

The question is whether the Assad government will have the nerve to launch an offensive against the armed opposition. The answer will decide the country's fate. Mr. Assad has recently announced that the «Libyan scenario» is unlikely to repeat in Syria: «...Any similar scenario will cost dearly to its producers.» Well, the problem is that 'producers' seem to be ready to pay a very high price...

The Murder of Gadhafi

...The death of Gadhafi is by all means a major NATO success. Gone is another defiant and nationally-minded leader, and his place will be taken by a puppet akin to those already installed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Step by step, the West is forming across the Muslim world a cohort of rulers serving the architects of globalization rather than their own nations. Who is next on the hit list - Saleh, Assad, or Ahmadinejad, and is the post-Soviet Central Asia going to be the next target?

Germany: The Parties Trial of Strength

The North Rhine-Westphalia elections continued a series of failures of Christian Democratic Union / Christian Social Union at local elections that actually started since the last Bundestag election in September 2009. The loss of votes by the Christian Democrats each time regional elections take place has become a steady tendency... the election result can be considered as a proof of discontent caused by austerity budget that the government of Angela Merkel advocates...
