Seif al-Islam Gaddafi and the Fight behind the Scene over His Fate

The legal proceedings against Seif al-Islam, the son of Muammar Gaddafi, have developed into an unusual situation, that has had no precedents in the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) history.  The matter is that the Court itself is exerting efforts to destroy the case so that the accused would never have to face it...There is ground to believe that some kind of clash  between two opposing forces took place inside the Court. One of the forces had never made itself known before…

The Karadzic Trial

No matter there have been massive attempts to “sanctify” the history falsification by the courts authority for twenty years, the Hague tribunal has finally failed to conduct a single trial  where the guilt of a top political or military Serb leader of committing crimes on the territory of former Yugoslavia would be proven.

Liberian President Charles Taylor’s Conviction: Holiday Sacrifice

On April 26 the Special Court for Sierra Leone found former President of Liberia Charles Taylor guilty of international war crimes committed on the territory of a neighboring state – Sierra Leone during the civil war of 1991-1997. He was the first former head of state to be convicted by an international court since the Nuremberg... The Taylor’s process has proved the Sierra Leone civil war was not an internal affair of the country. And Liberia was not the only state to be involved. It became known during trial deliberations that the USA and Nigeria (Olusegun Obasanjo) jointly conducted an operation to remove Taylor from political scene. He was promised asylum and immunity from prosecution in case he voluntarily resigned. He was arrested afterwards...

A Small State Involved in Big Business

A coup d'état took place in Guiney-Bissau on April 12... What makes Guiney-Bissau stand out in world politics? For almost twenty years the country was one of the most stable ones, what has made it a coup “champion”?.. So, six coups in thirteen years. An occasion? By no means. It’s all about special geographic position of Guiney-Bissau and its territory (not the state itself but the territory) used for unhindered drug trafficking. The time when the chain of frequent coups started to take place in the country “coincided” with the country’s becoming converted into a staging point for drug trafficking from South America to Europe, Asia and, of course, Africa itself...

Who the International Criminal Court Is Really Created for?

Not long ago the International Criminal Court (ICC) handed down a noteworthy ruling... The decision exposes the real essence of the ICC as an instrument of global hegemony reflected in grandiloquent legal form... Any state that doesn’t cooperate with the ICC is to be punished. As I see it, the ICC goes far beyond international law and even its own Statute... Formally the court decision is taken on Malawi and Chad, but it can also be taken against any country that is not a signatory to Statute. Russia, for instance!..

Mali Coup a New Step towards Global Resources Grab

A coup erupted in Mali, a landlocked West African country, on March 22... The media uniformly stress that Mali is among the world's poorest countries, which is basically true considering that it ranks 127 th in the global GDP listing... The ratings, however, should not overshadow the strategic importance and the economic potential of the territory of Mali. It... sits on considerable natural reserves of gold, uranium, bauxites, iron, manganese, tin, and copper. According to fresh reports, the northern part of Mali is found to be rich in oil and, importantly, contains a usable underground water ecosystem... The Mali coup marks another step towards the global redistribution of territories and natural resources masterminded by trans-national and trans-territorial players. Africa, therefore, is entering a long and difficult epoch of collapsing statehoods.

Libya. Brigands-Revolutionaries and the UN

...The UN Security Council’s deliberations on the situation in Libya in March this year and the results of investigation conducted by the UN Commission’s of inquiry on Libya testify that a plan to convert Libya into a “twilight zone” of world political scene is underway. The attempts are undertaken to make it kind of a symbiosis of Iraq and Somalia, a place of uncontrolled “sprawling” of weapons, pumping free oil and training militants for new revolutions. But till the resistance of the Libyan Jamahiriya’s forces is not broken this plan may be frustrated.

Africa on the Brink of New Shocks

The state powers of North Africa and the Middle East overtly routed, the process of destabilization in Nigeria and some other Africa South of Sahara countries moved a little away from the radar screen. But the recent events taking place in the most populated country of Africa make themselves be viewed against the backdrop of the «Arab spring», or «Arab leprosy» to be more precise... Today Nigeria has entered the period of abruptly intensified efforts of outside forces to turn the country’s internal contradictions to their own advantage. The same thing threatens other countries, first of all Algiers, Niger and Mali...

Syria – Belarus. Parallels

By the end of 2011 – beginning of 2012 Belarus sparked a wave of hysteria in the West. In December the President of the USA signed the sanctions imposing Belarus Human Rights and Democracy Act. The EU introduced additional sanctions against this country on February 28... Since a long time the sanctions have become a constantly used tool of aggression...

Russia’s Anthem in Belgrade

Nine years have passed on February 25 since the day the leader of Serbian Radical Party Vojislav Seselj, a professor of Belgrade University law faculty, came to the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia of his own will to disclaim charges of committing international crimes brought against him. What has happened during this period of time is startling in a lot of ways... The most startling about it is that the West has failed to eliminate the Serbian Radical Party during these years, it still remains one of leading political forces confronting globalism. And not in the Balkans only. The grandiose meeting that took place in Belgrade on February 25 was a clear evidence it’s true...

Germany: The Parties Trial of Strength

The North Rhine-Westphalia elections continued a series of failures of Christian Democratic Union / Christian Social Union at local elections that actually started since the last Bundestag election in September 2009. The loss of votes by the Christian Democrats each time regional elections take place has become a steady tendency... the election result can be considered as a proof of discontent caused by austerity budget that the government of Angela Merkel advocates...
