Dramatic Turn of Events - Syrian Opposition Groups Throw in Their Lot with Al Qaeda

...From now on, whatever Washington says about the democratic values to be protected in Syria, the continuation of support for the Syrian opposition forces will mean only one thing – an ominous alliance with Al Qaeda which exercises control over 90 percent of Syrian militants. Never in its history has this group had such a huge field army. Dozens of thousands fighters fill its ranks. How will it use this power? Is Richard Spencer right saying that the irrational hatred of Russia makes certain circles in Washington incite the Al Qaeda gangs to turn against Russia? It’s not that I want to believe it, but facts are something one can hardly turn a blind eye on...

Was Obama Planning on Striking Syria or Working to Gain Traction in Talks With Iran?

There are several ways to interpret the Obama Administration’s August 31, 2013 decision to ask the US Congress to vote on a so-called «limited strike» against Syria. These interpretations need to be analyzed to see what the intentions of the US were when it threatened to engage Syria in a direct war...

The Dragon Enters NATO’s Orchard

A tumultuous week it has been, the one that just moved away. It began with United States president Barack Obama’s speech in the UN General Assembly last Monday signaling that the era of American dominance of the Middle East is ending. But the signal is already being acted upon before the week ended. That is what the stunning announcement in Ankara on Thursday signifies – over the decision by the Turkish government led by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to select a Chinese defence firm, China Precision Machinery Import and Export Corp [CPMIEC], for a $3 billion contract to co-produce a long-range air and missile defence system for the country...

East Ghouta: False Flag Chemical Attack

The International Institute for Peace, Justice and Human Rights (ISTEAMS) has just published a comprehensive report on the chemical attack in the Damascus suburb of East Ghouta. The document is called The Chemical Attacks on East Ghouta to Justify Military Right to Protect Intervention in Syria... The author is ISTEAMS President and International Coordinator Mother Agnes Mariam of the Cross (el-Salib), the Mother Superior of the Monastery of St. James the Mutilated (Syria). A fearless faithful, she has been collecting the evidence related to bloody events in the conflict zone since the very start of Syrian rebellion: the militants running rampant, the staged fakes and instances of one-sided highlighting of the events in Syria by Western media...

Syria and Lithuanian Mercenaries. On the Preparation of a New Provocation

For many years now, hundreds of Lithuanian guys have been signing up for «peacekeeping operations» and getting killed in hotspots like Iraq, Kosovo and Afghanistan. At the present time, Americans are currently organising the recruitment of mercenaries in Lithuania for dispatch to Syria... In mid-September, nearly 50 Lithuanian mercenaries were selected and are getting ready to board chartered flights from Lithuania to Turkey together with small groups of tourists. A preference is given to people aged between 25 and 40 who have carried out contracted military service in Western armies. Special forces operatives, military engineers, radio and electrical engineers and HGV drivers are the most sought after... Among those being sought for enlistment in Lithuania, they want people who can speak Russian fluently and have both Lithuanian and Russian citizenship...

Will Afghanistan Follow Syria’s Scenario?

With ISAF to leave Afghanistan in 2014, the Taliban exercising control over large portions of the country against the backdrop of raging civil war is quite a probable scenario... Mullah Omar controls military operations in southern Afghanistan, specifically in the Helmand, Zabul, and Kandahar provinces... The executive leadership, known as the Quetta Shura Taliban (QST), is reportedly based out of Quetta, Pakistan. Taliban Commander Gulbuddin Hekmatyar controls military operations in much of northern Afghanistan, mainly in the Kunduz, Baghlan, Kunar, Kipsa, and Laghman provinces. Though not officially part of the Taliban, the Haqqani Network operates Taliban operatives in the regions around Kabul...

Brazil to End US Spying on its Soil

...President Dilma Rousseff took steps to display her protest against insufficient and scanty explanations she received from the White House concerning the US special services surveillance efforts in Brazil. She cancelled the planned visit to Washington. Speaking at the opening of the 68th United Nations General Assembly’s session, she lashed out against the United States. In unusually strong language, Rousseff launched a blistering attack on U.S. surveillance, calling it an affront to Brazilian sovereignty and totally unacceptable...

Who is Violating Human Rights in Syria?

The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, which was set up by the UN, has submitted its latest report to the 24th Session of the Human Rights Council. Although it is biased in terms of laying the primary responsibility for the massive human rights violations taking place in Syria on government forces, at the same time it provides an enormous amount of information indicating that there have also been crimes and violations committed by the rebels who are being supported by the West. It is a reality which is no longer possible to ignore...

Obama at the UN. The Syrian Blues and a Persian Puzzle

...Obama’s narrative never once acknowledged the huge contribution made by the US’ regional allies in stoking the fire of the Syrian civil war. His lamentation, therefore, that «extremists» might take advantage of the conflict does not sound convincing, because who are the extremists fighting in Syria? There are serious contradictions in the US position. Obama claimed it is for the Syrian people themselves to decide their future but then he also dismissed it as «fantasy» that Bashar could ever have a role in it. Obama named Russia and Iran for «insisting on Assad’s rule», but then, he ignored the active role of the US Central Intelligence Agency and of America’s close allies such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar in the execution of the covert regime change project through the past two to two and a half years...

«We’re all Kenyans»

The Nairobi operation wound up with rather unexpected results... According to the passports found, they crime perpetrators were the nationals of the United States, Great Britain and the Netherlands. It proves the fact that the criminal act was committed by an Al Qaeda affiliated international terrorist network. Its activities are coordinated and spread around the whole world; it would be erroneous to think that the terrorist acts in different countries (Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan and Kenya) were isolated cases... The intelligence data on the Al Qaeda’s strategic goals is not made public. The world is simply intimidated with a bogey that it just hates the human kind, so it kills people wherever it is possible. Willy-nilly one gets the impression that this kind of image is created for some purpose...

On the Pentagon’s Biological Laboratories in Ukraine

...In ten years, the number of American laboratories engaged in developing ways to protect against bioterrorism, according to the official version, has grown from 20 to 400. Secret biological centres have appeared in Africa and Latin and America, biological laboratories of unknown function have opened in Ukraine and Georgia, and it is also planned to open a biological centre in Kazakhstan in 2015. The majority of these activities are being supervised by the Pentagon... In Ukraine in 2013 alone, biolaboratories were opened in Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Simferopol, Kherson, Lviv (three laboratories at once in this town!) and Lugansk with the support of the US. Today, the Pentagon’s biolaboratories are gathered around Russia in a semicircle...
