Daniel Ortega a Favorite in Nicaragua's Coming Race for Presidency

Nicaragua's liberal elite is predictably concerned that Ortega will manage to retain presidency in the coming elections... Ortega mercilessly criticizes the US tendency to spread capitalism by force across the world, Washington's “wasteful spendings” on wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya, and the US blockade of Cuba which already counts over four decades. Ortega, by the way, says that the US plans to turn NATO might against Russia and warns that the network of NATO bases around Russia is being created to induce the country's partition similar to the demise of the USSR...

A US-Iran pantomime over Iraq

Al-Qaeda’s virulent Wahhabi, anti-Shi’ite ideology is sheer poison for Iran...The US has sought and obtained Iran’s acquiescence in its strategies in Iraq ever since the invasion in 2003...The “pro-West” Persian Gulf states are terrified of Shi’ite empowerment, for which they blame US misadventure in Iraq. On the other hand, Israel is hopping mad that it faces regional isolation and Obama isn’t resolute about vanquishing Iranian influence, especially in next-door Egypt, which used to be Israel’s playpen. And, of course, Israel dreads to think Iran may gain direct access to the Levant via Iraq...

Drugs, the Empire’s Geopolitical Tool

For years now, the huge U.S. defense budget (it accounts for 50% of all defense budgets in the world) has been well known as their foreign policy tool. However, the funding of U.S. spy agencies, including the CIA and around 16 other bodies, has a dark side related to their funding sources, which are far beyond the control of formal administrations...This “additional funding” is present in the businesses related to the running of drugs...

Norway's Bloodbath Reflects Mental Balkanization

In 2014, Europe will be commemorating the outbreak of World War I, which was sparked by the Balkan conflict... At the moment the Balkans, a region with open or brewing conflicts in Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia, etc., are psychologically prepared  for a new war. It is not going to be one of these trade or currency wars, nor a war  fought with informational warfare. Rather, it will be a real and bloody war fought by everybody against everybody else, with no classic division lines…

The U.S. invasion of Iraq: until the last drop of oil

“Mission accomplished”- that`s how a banner displayed on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was titled during a televised address by the then U.S. President George W. Bush on May 1, 2003...However, there was a grain of truth to Bush`s words: Saddam Hussein, Israel's major enemy was toppled, while the resources of the richest Mideast state were now in control of the U.S. In the subsequent eight years Americans were trying to strengthen their presence in the region and ensure control of Iraqi oil fields...The most oil-rich areas of Iraq were divided between Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford Intl and Schlumberger, all four companies linked to Texas…

Norway's Enigmatic «Lone Terrorist»

Today's Europe is looking for a way to get out of the trap into which it has knowingly maneuvered itself. The openness of Breivik's trial may easily translate into propaganda of his world view, and if he stays alive by the time the trial opens, he has a chance to assume the role of a new Horst Wessel, an early Nazi activist posthumously venerated by the German fascists. The trial of Breivik will be a bifurcation point for the EU: trying him openly would be tantamount to broadcasting his ideas, and limiting the publicity of the trial would make him look like a martyr. In any case, the trial has to take place...

The Game of Multiculturalism In the Light of Norway's Deadly Drama

Europe may be preaching tolerance, but chances are its population's grievances are about to become overwhelming. If this is the case, the establishment's push for multiculturalism can easily echo with an anti-Muslim brand of terrorism. The answer to the inescapable question about responsibility is likely to be simple, and it may be a good idea for European governments to start reigning in the political elites' aspirations before fighting erupts in the streets and Europe's populism takes a shape of downright fascism…

After Oslo: Time to Crack Down On Mossad Terrorism

Breivik, who sometimes anglicized his name as Andrew Berwick in his numerous web postings, was said to be a right-wing Islamophobe who sympathized with Zionism and who was a Freemason…As more and more evidence pointed to Oslo being yet another example of a state-sponsored terrorist attack by Israel’s Mossad, the corporate media studiously avoided mentioning how the Norwegian government through its recent actions, had become a major problem for Israel and its allies abroad, especially on the Palestine sovereignty issue…Mossad is a master at false-flag terrorist attacks designed to alter perceptions and punish opponents of Israeli policy. The fingerprints of Israeli intelligence are all over the 9/11 attacks on the United States, the 3/22 train bombings in Madrid, the 7/7 transit bombings in London, and, now, the 7/22 attacks in Norway…

Europe's Quiet Corner Under Terrorist Attack

The investigation in Norway surely promises a series of enticing revelations...If Breivik starts to cooperate with the law-enforcement agencies and unexpectedly dies in jail, the world will be presented with yet another opportunity for guesswork. If, instead, it transpires at the early phase of the investigation that Breivik was a member of an extremist group, the existence of a wider design would be almost impossible to deny. What has to be taken into account is that new terrorist acts would imminently follow – or unanticipated political consequences would arise - under the latter scenario…

Masks for Kashmir

It is absurd to argue that terrorism can be justified at one place, and condemned at another place... As the regions from India to Pakistan and beyond towards Afghanistan are historically linked, it is but chimera to think of achieving national objectives by killing innocent civilians. This is applicable to all conflicts including Kashmir…

Liberation of Europe: Siege of Budapest

The Battle of Budapest (October 29, 1944 till February 13, 1945) was a great battle of WWII. The victory paved the way for liberation of Hungary, destruction of the Hitler’s coalition in Europe and blockade of German forces in the Balkans... The Soviet 2d and 3d Ukrainian Fronts were confronted by German Army Group South, part of Group Center and the army of Hungary, the last ally of Nazis in Europe... The Hungarian capital was encircled. Hitler ordered Obergruppenfuehrer-SS Karl Pfeffer-Wildenbruch to fight to the last. The storm started on December 26, 1944 to continue for the next two months. For comparison, Berlin was captured in two weeks...
